A guide to keeping your pet's teeth clean
Taking care of ours pets teeth is as important as looking after our own! A combination of food bits, saliva and bacteria can form plaque that then turns into tartar. It is important to clean pet’s teeth when possible to avoid the plaque build-up and increased chances of gingivitis.
What to look out for:
Top Teeth Guide:
Brushing pets' teeth – we stock tooth brushes and paste in practice. Ideally this would be developed from a young puppy so they are familiarised with the action. Older pets may be slightly more resistant to having their teeth brushed, in this case we also offer special granules that can be added to water.
Certain diets designed with dental care in mind might be the way forward alongside brushing.
Annual checks on your pet’s teeth or 6-monthly if advised by your vet. You can also ask for a more thorough look if your pet is under anaesthetic for a routine procedure!
