Paul Atkinson MA Vet MB MRCVS

Paul qualified from Cambridge and subsequently joined the practice, having already had experience of several practices in England and America. Initially working as a mixed practitioner, over the years his interests have developed into bovine fertility, disease control and small animal medicine. Outside the practice his family of three children keep him busy, but still manages to find time for a game of squash and racquetball to keep fit and enjoys watching rugby at Bath.

Alistair Lees BVet Med MRCVS

Alistair qualified in 1982 from the Royal Veterinary College, London. After qualifying, Alistair joined a mixed practice in Hampshire, where he spent two years working with equine and farm animals. He then moved to a small animal practice in Kent, where he spent two years gaining experience with domestic animals. In 1986, Alistair joined Kingston Veterinary Practice as a mixed practitoner, however, he then decided to specialise in the equine side of the practice. In 2010 Alistair was responsible for the setting up and running of the new edition to Kington Veterinary Group, namely 'Shavehill Equine Clinic, based just outside of Gillingham Dorset.

Keith Jones BVSc MRCVS

Keith qualified in 1986 from Liverpool University. After 12 months in a North Wales Practice, he came to Kingston Veterinary Group as a mixed practice assistant. After becoming a partner in 1995, he has concentrated on the equine and farm animal side of the practice. In his spare time, he likes to keep fit by running, cycling and hill-walking.

David Tunnicliffe MA Vet MB MRCVS

After qualifying from Cambridge University in 1989 David worked in general practices in Bedford and Driffield before moving down to Dorset in 1994 to join Kingston Veterinary Group where he enjoys all aspects of mixed general practice. Away from work David enjoys reading, music and cycle touring.

Pippa Smith BSc BVSc MRCVS

Pippa has been an equine vet at Kingston Veterinary Group since 2003. Brought up in North Wales, she had much success showing before becoming more involved in eventing, where she competed to advanced level. After graduating from Liverpool Vet School in 2002, she worked in an equine practice in North Wales, before moving down south to Dorset. Pippa enjoys the variety of first opinion equine work and is qualified to perform acupuncture. At home she is kept busy with a young family where her interests include riding and skiing.

Gemma Loader BVet Med (Hons) MRCVS

Gemma graduated from the The Royal Veterinary College, London in 2007, however, having grown up in Somerset Gemma, once qualified realised that a return to a rural lifestyle was the way forward. After graduating Gemma spent 3 1/2 years based in Somerset at a mixed practice.

In November 2010 she joined Kingston Veterinary Group, where she was able to follow her passion and take a more active role in farm animal work. Gemma's position here at Kingston Vets is 70% farm and 30% small animal work; however, she is a keen small animal surgeon. Gemma has a special interest in sheep health and production. In Gemma's spare time she can be found enjoying a wide variety of Country pursuits.

Poppy Simonson BVSc MRCVS

Poppy went to Bristol Vet School after growing up in rural Oxfordshire. Poppy joined us in September 2018 and is enjoying the varied caseload that equine and small animal practice brings with her main interest being internal medicine. Outside of work she enjoy horse riding, baking and exploring the Dorset countryside.

Shelby Pontin BVSc MRCVS

Shelby went to Bristol Vet school after growing up in South Wales. She quickly joined us after graduating in August 2018 and is splitting her time 50/50 between the farm and small animal work.

She has a special interest in surgery and outside of work you can find her running or spending time with family and friends
